I'm so sorry, m'dear. I could draw up a list of the best television there ever was and point out that every one of those shows was shafted by the networks for something bland and tasteless.
I am coming to your house with my Life DVDs and a couple bottles of wine and maybe some rope and duct tape. You will be my prisoner for a little while. And after we watch all of Life, we’re going to watch Band of Brothers. And the extras, oh yes.
Is this a threat? 'Cause it sounds like a damn fine time to me.
And yes, I didn't say it was uncommon. *g* It's just as awful each time it happens.
It's the main reason I try not to get too involved with shows currently running on tv...it breaks my heart. It's so much easier just to come to the show later, after it's been canned and go, "Aw, it's too bad this show didn't make it," but not be torn apart by it.
This is the exact point my friend made today. He only watches DVDs now.
Today he was raving about Life on Mars which he watched over the last week. He loved it because he could watch all the episodes together. I could never find the damn show because it was on/off.

Ain't that the truth about a lot of shows? And you know, I only watch shows on DVDs anymore. I like being able to marathon. A lot of people do.
Good god, West Wing was canceled. Avatar is over. Dead Like Me is long gone. Gilmore Girls was totally unrecognizable before it was put out of its misery. I found Firefly too late. My Boys is all I have left!! How sad is that?!
