The days have slipped by this October, we are busy with life,
good days, with sun and with blue sky.
The leaves have turned with frenzy, lit up from within by the process of chemical scavenging.
The leaves are scarlet and orange and yellow, the brilliant colors of fire and warmth.
A pale echo of the siren call of long summer days.
These memories will save us in the long dark days ahead
And now the Eve draws near, and the spirits will gather in close for a few days.
In memory or in fact, their faces as we remember them or perhaps as slightly familiar strangers walking past us on the street.
Light the candles in the window, create the monsters out of plastic and rubber, pass out the sweets to the little ones,
apease, apease them
It is only that have been asked to be remembered and we should remember them all,
given the inevitable, that one day we shall join them
