Today I found out during a funeral some bad news about a boy I knew from when I was little. See I used to stay at my grandfathers camper during the summer, and some of his friends had a grandson named Clinton. Well I know this sounds pretty silly but we liked each other, so we decided to get pretend married in my grandfathers motorhome. So from then on we were know as Mr. and Mrs. Clinton(after president Bill Clinton).
We were a couple and demanded to be called that. Well if you have watched the news a boy in Huntsville was hit and killed by a motorcycle. Read on down to read the story.
A community grieves after a young boy is hit by a motorcycle while skateboarding along a Valley road.
The accident happened at 3 pm Saturday afternoon on Looney Road in Limestone County, just one mile north of Athens.
"He was a skateboard kind of person. He loved to skateboard," says Ben Hill.
That's how Hill remembers his friend, 13-year old Clinton Roberts.
Roberts passion for skateboarding ended Saturday on Looney Road near Athens.
"I hung out with him just the whole day. We was riding bikes, went to listen to the radio. I went home to get something to eat, and the next thing I knew it happened,"says Hill.
Roberts was struck and killed by a motorcycle.
Investigators say the teen was riding his skateboard when he accidentally veered in front of the motorcycle.
The driver couldn't stop and hit Roberts.
Troopers say Roberts wasn't wearing a helmet. He died on the scene.
The couple riding the motorcycle was hurt.
28-year old Christopher Smith was flown to Huntsville Hospital.
His wife, 20-year old Claire Smith was taken to Athens-Limestone County Hospital.
As of 8:30 Sunday night, Christopher Smith was still being treated in the emergency room at Huntsville Hospital. No word on his wife's condition.
State Troopers don't expect to file any charges.
~I know that this is not something I should care about, but it made me realize that life is really short and you never know what will happen. Well thats all I got for today.
Love, Mary-Evan Luther
