Last night I went to San Francisco with Kassandra, Megan and Alex to see The Moving Units play at Popscene.
BEST IDEA EVER
It was so much fun that we all promised to go back together again soon (sadly, Thursday nights are the only ones we could go because the club is usually 21+). Part of the tradition will undoubtably be the 7-11 stop on the way home (slurpees, junk food, live music and dancing- last night couldn't have asked for more). The DJ even played a Peaches song (after Kass and I went up there twice to request)! There were a lot of good looking people there, but it sort of baffles me on how anyone would expect to meet anyone at a club, it just seems like a strange environment to go strike up a conversation with someone. That said, I kinda wanted to go up and dance with people but... it just didn't seem like anyone would be receptive. Who knows. Moral of the story is that the Moving Units were great (I might go see them again tomorrow... depending on how stressed out I feel about homework, since I've done absolutely none in the past three days, and also if Doc will be around tomorrow when Alex stops in Palo Alto), and dancing in a club that plays good music was SO fun. Before and after the band played we danced to whatever the DJ was playing (The Faint, Joy Division, INTERPOL, the Smiths... other chouette stuff). My body is so tired and sore right now from dancing... I had Jazz on Thursday, then danced the majority of last night, and then two hours of Jazz today. German was cancelled today so I was able to go for the full amount of Jazz III today after History. I wish my schedule worked better so I wouldn't have to leave early or come late to classes... but oh well. I am excited about next quarter... I am thinking I might do Jazz Rep, depending on how I feel when the time comes, and I def want to take ballet with Lisa, and probably jazz with Robin. I stayed after class today to talk to Lisa (the instructor) to get help (scissor leaps), and it was nice talking to her for a few minutes. I don't talk to her all that often eventhough I have class with her every week, but she always manages to say something that raises my spirits when we do.
Unfortunately I am pretty tired right now, which for me is a pretty big deal because I can usually pull through on major sleep deprivation. I am trying not to think of all the work I need to do this weekend (including a German test, blegh). All my midterms this quarter are take home, which on first listen SOUNDS like a good thing, but really isn't. German won't be open notes or anything, because it never is, though I think both Anthro and History are open book. I'd almost rather not have open book though, because that gives license for way harder grading... and I just know that each one is gonna take up s o m u c h t i m e. Oh well, onto other things!
Yay for a good week.
