So yeah, the Chevelle concert completely rocked! Gah, it was so fucking awesome! The auditorium it wa sin was really small, so we were decently close to the stage. There was no problem seeing the bands, other than the fact that the girl in front of me had huge hair. And if I can say that it's huge, then you know it's big... Anyway, I know some people that would shoot me for saying this, but I think it was better than FOB and MCS. I mean, I know that I've never seen them live before, but this was more metal-ish and less punk. I liked it... There weren't all of these skinny, little, jackass-type punks running around everywhere. Most of the people there were metal heads that were in college at SIU. Yeah, I'm still on a high from it... Anyway, this band called The Black Maria opened. Even though I'd never heard them before, I now consider myself a fan. Usually, the first bands to play sort of suck, but not these guys. They were pretty good. So good, in fact, that I bought their CD when I went up to the merch. table. It was cool too because when I went up to buy it, there were two guys from the band standing there. I thought about asking them to sign it, but I didn't. But yeah, they definitely have the potential to be big. They're signed with Victory records out of Chicago, so they very well could be... I'd advise you guys to check them out... Anyway, after The Black Maria, Taproot came on. Andrea and I didn't even know they were playing until we got there and saw a bunch of people wearing Taproot stuff...lol. But oh my gosh, they rocked too! During the concert, the lead singer came out into the audience, and Andrea and I had the seats closest to the isle on our row, so we totally got to touch him!!! Ahhh! But yeah, they close with "Poem" which just so happens to be my favorite Taproot song! Yeah, when they were like, "yeah, this is our last song. It's a song called 'Poem'..." everyone just went crazy! yeah, Taproot was amazing, but Chevelle totally blew them off the stage. They were insanely awesome... I new every song they played (surprise, surprise). But yeah, probably the best live show I've ever seen...

Taproot. The 2nd guy from the left is the lead singer...Stephen Richards.

Oh get this... for those of you that are familiar with the midwest, the concert got out at 11:30pm, I stopped for gas and a drink for like 5-10 minutes and was at home by 1:45am. I was pretty happy about that...

yeah, this morning I had to get up at like 6:30 to take Andrea to Nashville. Also a good trip as far as time is concerned. We left my house at 7:15am and got all the way down south of Franklin, Tennessee by 9:30am. So yeah, all the way down to like 20 miles south of Nashville in just over 2 hours. The trip home was quick, too. I left at 9:50am, and got home at 11:55. Just 5 minutes short of making it in less than 2 hours... So yeah, I could have come home and taken a nap seeing as in I only got like 4 hours of sleep last nigh and I have a game tonight, but I decided to update instead...
