(no subject)
I'm home for the summer and I've decided to enjoy being surrounded by the people and things I like the most. Whether or not i'll be entirely fullfilled this summer has yet to be determined, but I suppose it's up to me and the extracurricular things I choose to partake in rather than the mindless things I have been doing. I don't feel bad yet since I've only been home a week today. I've caught up fairly well in such a short period of time with a few friends and it's been simple and serene; i've slept in, worked out, gone out, and watched a lot of tv. Oh, and I've been applying for jobs in my spare time since I have a lot of it. Kinda sucks being jobless but i'm sure there's something out there, just a matter of finding it. Ideally I'll find something, anything I enjoy, but for right now It's been up in the air and tough. I'm partly skeptical since I've always fallen back on someone or something and this summer I guess I have no connections that can get me a job as fast as i'd like one. Overall, things are good. Life is good.
Liv's coming to stay with me for a month, probably sometime next week. It'll be fun having her around since we're pretty similar and we get along great. This summer is pretty much take-it-as-it-comes since there are a bunch of things i want to do and places i'd like to visit and I think i'll be able to do that. Mike's moving out to L.A. in the beginning of July and perhaps i'll drive across the country with him and Olivia. We shall see.
It's funny how much things change and yet how much they stay the same. I think that we see ourselves as for the most part unchanging and yet in the eyes of everyone else we're definitely changing. I bumped into Wendy, an old swim coach, while i was at the YMCA the other day and she didn't even recogize me. I said, "hi wendy" and she just stuttered something along the lines of "hhh hhhh hh hiiii" since she couldn't quite manage a name behind that and was pretty much flustered, probably thinking it was me but not completely sure. Basically it was funny since I dont think i've changed. Apparently I'm wrong.
