Ah...unrequited love
Yes, I'm sure by the title of my entry one would assume it's going to be about how sucky and depressing Valentine's day is. Gotcha!
I have thought about it before and again today came to the conclusion that never in my life have I had a guy to share this day with. The thought of this used to depress me, but after today I realized Valentine's day isn't important. Not one bit. I'm not implying I am jealous of those who have someone to share Valentine's day with. I think that's great that couples can have a holiday all their own. What I'm trying to say is I have discovered this Valentine's day that love isn't about cards, roses, and candy hearts. Love is about caring for someone, not just simply through a boyfriend/girlfriend point of view, but from a family like love. For instance, yesterday I was on my way to hand out Valentine's at the retirement center. I was a bit tired, but as soon as I saw the faces of the elderly people we gave cards to, and sang to, I felt this wonderful feeling overcome me. The people were so glad to see us and touched that we even cared. I realized that feeling was part of what makes Valentine's day so bright. The love. Not the mushy or sexual part of it, but the sweet, caring part. After I left the retirement center I felt like a million bucks. I felt like all it took to spread love was a smile and a card. Just taking an extra moment to think about someone or listen to them. That's what true love is all about. I also thought about how this feeling should be shared not just on Valentine's day, but every day. I know this is probably the most cheesy thing I have ever written, but I just want everyone to know how much of an impact you can make on someone's life. I want to thank all my friends who have made an impact on mine. Friendship is an everlasting love.
Why I love you guys if it isn't obvious enough:
Alysa- You always cheer me up and listen to me. You never let me get down on myself. Thanks for being a sister and a motivator. Swinging on a swingset will never be the same without you.
Lauren- You always make me laugh and straighten me out when I'm being crazy. Thanks for all the fun times and deep conversations. You inspire me. You can now be hailed "Inspirational Barbie". :P
Laura- You have such a sweet, kind heart. Your motherly nature impresses me so much. Thanks for always giving me your honest opinion and for being my gym buddy.
Mere- Wit and intelligence are your middle name or names. haha You amaze me with all your talents. You go through so much and are so strong. You are my hero.
Emmy P- I admire you for your creativity and writing skills. You can make anything into something extradionary with just a few art supplies. Plus gosh you are so freaking smart. You are like going to rule the world one day. hahaha
L'ame- You are my little sister! I love you because you are so insightful for your age. You are wise beyond your years and make me smile.
Cecelia- You make me feel so good when I talk to you. You always have something sweet or witty to say. Thanks for being my awesome msn buddy.
Emily H- You are such a beautiful girl on the inside and out. Your hugs brighten my day. Thanks for listening to my boy problems! haha
Katie- Mrs. Branscum you are one of the funniest kids I know. Thanks for adding random humor to my life. Don't be down on yourself, you are great!
Carly- You are the coolest kid I have never met! haha You love so many things I do...it's scary. You are one smart cookie and have a spakling personality.
Amanda- You are one of the most interesting people at VV! You have so many amazing interests that I also love. You have great taste in movies, music, and everythng! haha You also give back to your community which is absolutely touching.
Spazzy- Everyone who meets you falls in love with you. You have a way with people. Your personality is nothing short of captivating. Plus you rock cuz you gave me a cookie. hahaha
Jason- You are one smart kid who knows EVERYTHING. haha Even if you like Memphis and think Morrison is better than J.J., I still love ya! You are the best person to argue on lj with. haha

Today was neato burritto.
-I was on the front page of the paper. I was so surprised.
-I made a 86 on my math test, which isn't the best, but this test was killer.
-I made progress on my english paper. That's really saying something. haha
-My team won Survivor in 3rd period. No thanks to my accounting skills, mind you.
-Spaz gave me a cookie in 4th period!
-Logan and I gave nifty resolutions in Model United Nations. My resolution got tabled, but I think I did an okay job representing it. At least we impressed Lindley.
-After school I gave out candy to all the tutoring kids and tutors. This made me happy. :)
-I came home and worked on a scholarship application! woot!
-My parents came home and my dad had bought my mom flowers and a balloon. He also got me a rose and a balloon. :) My mom got me some candy. I looove my rose! :) It smells sooo great!
-I went to BAM with Laura and we had fun. :)
-Duke won :) and J.J. got 33 points
