I have been trying to keep up with the riots that are happening in France because my French teacher has been questioning us on the issue as of late. Last night France declared a curfew in some of the really bad areas, which is really quite interesting. When I think of cities being forced to have curfews it makes me think of Russia at the beginning of the twentieth century, or of Germany during WWII. It seems impossible that the racial and ethnic dispute continues and such measures have to be enforced to provide some sort of safety for citizens. Moreover, it is hard to say where to stand at this point, it seems very frivolous that the issue is even going on, and it seems that the governments ONLY option was to set a curfew in order to slow down the rioting. At this point the situation seems to be the beginning of an open book, and I am hoping that this is a short story and not a novel.
Also today, I almost got hit by a car crossing the street.
