Because I don't believe we get adequate nutrition via diet and the RDA is enough to avoid disease, not enough to actually be healthy, I take supplements.

I take a Mature Multi, because I am going through the Change and iron for all men and women who no longer Bleed is a Bad Thing.

I take Vitamin D in the morning. There are MANY studies that indicate that D helps every thing that needs assistance. 1000 mg/day.

I also take Coenzyme Q10 / CoQ10 / ubiquinone. It is in all your cells and your production decreases as you get older. It's a "helps everything" supplement similar in benefit to Vitamin D and I take it in the morning

I take a B Complex every morning. I used to take it when I felt worn out or when my body showed signs of stress (cold sores in my mouth). Finally decided that taking it all the time was a sensible, preventative and haven't had a cold sore since.

I take Red Yeast Rice twice a day. It is help keep blood pressure down. Mine is not high, yet, but has gradually been creeping upward and with my family history this seems like a good idea.

I have started taking Black Cohosh twice a day to help alleviate hot flashes. There are studies that show it to be slightly efficacious, unlike Evening Primrose.

At night, I take Vitamin C (so with the multi I get a little twice a day), a calcium/magnesium combination, Black Cohosh and red yeast rice.

Also, Calm magnesium powder and 3 mg of melatonin at bedtime. The power surges are causing some insomnia and the Calm and melatonin help dramatically.
