When I lived in Charleston, SC, the daily paper had a crossword that I could usually finish by myself. Sunday was significantly harder. And I liked that.
After various this and that, I started going to a paticualar coffee shop on a regular basis, There were 2 other regulars who like the crossword and we'd race to see who got it first. But on SUNDAY, we shared and that was so much fun.
I loved it when I finished Sunday on my own, but I was just as happy when the 3 of us did it. The defeat of the puzzle was the point.
Later, I found that Sudoku is pretty satisfying, too.
