A/N: I was supposed to be writing a 10’ script when this practically attacked to me and demanded I write it, so here. Please, don’t expect it to make much sense because, what, I didn’t mention? It was 4:30 AM. *grin* The truth is, the more I read it the less I like it, but if I don't post it now I won't be able to finish my script on time!
Failed
She thought it was because she loved him and he didn't love her...
That she got upset when he didn’t expect to go to her birthday party.
That she threw the ring in his face when he proposed right after being called up to the majors.
She thought it was because she loved him and he loved her too...
That she smiled when she read his note: “I don't accept your definition of us.”
That she agreed to marry him.
That she told him about her job. Because, how could she not trust the man she loved?
But she got it wrong.
She got upset about him not going to her birthday party because she didn’t think he cared.
She smiled when she read his note just because she realized he did care.
She agreed to marry him because she learned that he hadn’t asked because he had been called up to the majors but because he really did love her.
She told him about the job because he loved her, and somehow had managed to convince her that she loved him too, and how could she not trust the man she loved?
But she didn't love him.
She wanted someone to love her.
She just wanted someone to love her and in the wake of things, her loving too instead of just feeling loved went... forgotten. Inadvertently, she boxed herself into a corner and forced herself to try to make a relationship work.
What was worse: she failed to realize, time and again, that there already was someone who cared, someone who loved her, someone who saw her for exactly who she was. Someone who would never bake a diamond ring into a cupcake or ask her to marry him after major news that demanded celebration, someone who would never ever cheat on her or make demands or even think about skipping her birthday party. Because he knew she cared. Because he knew her and loved her.
She failed to realize, time and again, that the man was right there.
And she failed to realize just how much she loved him, too.
