Some Still Life press...

I'll be updating this as things pop up, but I thought you guys might want to read some of the reviews for Still Life...

*updated 10/6*
*updated 10/7* (just a warning, this is starting to get pixel heavy)
*updated 10/9* (still pixel heavy, and now including an embedded video)
*updated 10/14* (more links)

Here's a New York Magazine interview with Sarah Paulson: very brief (blink and you'll miss it) mention of Fred.

The Variety review of Still Life was very positive on Fred.

Here is a CBS 4 - Denver review: vague but positive.

Hot off the presses, the New York Times review. For those of you who don't follow New York theater, the Times theater critic(s) are notoriously... *critical* (read: impossible to please). The review itself is mixed (if skewing negative) but they had this to say about fweller: Mr. Weller (“Take Me Out” and “Seascape” on Broadway) exudes a thorny, sexy ambivalence that clicks nicely with Ms. Paulson’s.

10/6/09 *updated*: Thanks to kostgard for passing along this great review on Bloomberg.com:
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had it in “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.” Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy epitomized it. If you want to see chemistry in action -- the kind that’s equal parts sexual electricity and crackling banter -- get your tickets now for “Still Life.” You’ll find Sarah Paulson and Frederick Weller at the Lortel Theater in New York’s Greenwich Village throwing off hot sparks in the best new American play since “Proof.”
And also a photo of an angry Fred (plus more on the site):

Also, Playbill.com has some photos from the opening night party, including this one:

10/7/09 *updated*:
Some gossip blog Guest of a Guest has photos from the opening night party, including this on which I thnk is funny because Halley Feiffer (on fweller's right) is doing an "I'm a little teapot" pose. Also, legit full smile with teeth from Fred:

Likewise, Times Square Gossip has photos from the "red carpet."

Thanks to kostgard a few more positive reviews, including talkinbroadway.com, curtainup.com, and Backstage. The Backstage review included this photo:

Also, Playbill added a gallery of stills from the production to their website here.

The New York Post pans the production overall, but has nice things to say about Sarah and Fred: Weller and Paulson are highly appealing as the star-crossed lovers...

In a particularly, meanspirited review, The L Magazine refers to the fweller's douchebag haircut. The nerve.

Another review: The Epoch Times.

And The Leader says:
Weller finds a nice cordiality and daring for his performance, exuding a likability and charm...

And, finally (for now, here is a short video of an interview with the show's writer and director, which features blink-and-you'll-miss-it bits of the performance (no audio except director and writer's voice-over):

10/14/09 *updated*:
The folks from MusicOMH.com had positive things to say about the show and fweller.

Also the Huffington Post had this to say: Weller's final scene, almost operatic in its quiet beauty, breathes life into his lover -- and humbles the audience.

From a mixed, but skewing positive review from the Village Voice: Sarah Paulson and Frederick Weller generate delightfully cantankerous fireworks as Carrie Ann and Jeffrey...
