Grabbed from God knows where ;)
I tried to stick with current shows as much as possible (except with the kid related question). Otherwise it would be too hard to choose.
Back in the Day: Five TV Shows You Loved As A Kid
01. Wildfire
02. Thundercats
03. He-Man
04. Knights Of The Zodiac
05. Care Bears
I was more into cartoons when I was a kid, instead of tv shows per se. And I *absolutely* loved all the above. There are many more, but I went with the first five that popped in my head.
Who Would You Do?: Five TV Characters You Would... Well, It's Self-Explanatory
01. Don Draper (Mad Men)
02. Simon Bellamy (Misfits)
03. Hank Moody (Californication)
04. Peter Bishop (Fringe)
05. John Luther (Luther)
Well, Don and Hank are complete assholes when it comes to someone you would have a real relationship with, *but* they are so hot that I'd be fine with a one night stand ;) Luther is downright dark and bleak, but -- once again -- a one-time thing would be acceptable considering his über sexiness. Simon and Peter are definitely relationship material. Good, loyal, stable, nice guys. Sorta... :D
What? No. No, I don't watch that... Five Guilty Pleasures
01. America's Next Top Model
02. Man Vs. Food
03. Top Chef
04. Bizarre ER
05. What Not To Wear
Well, after I quickly dropped my gross
bad habit, that should still remain unnamed (lol); I find it hard to find guilty pleasures. The one I feel the guiltiest about is America's Next Top Model, I guess. The rest I kinda honestly love :D
Wow: Five TV Moments You Still Remember (And Probably Won't Forget)
01. George, Mitchell and Nina seeing Annie on tv after they lost her (Being Human UK 2x08).
02. Betty confronts Don about his real identity and he comes clean about everything (Mad Men 3x11
YT).
03. Adam finds Cathy's rental storage unit (The Big C 1x13
YT).
04. Walter receives the white tulip (Fringe 2x18
YT).
05. Hank's letter to Becca (Californication 4x02
YT).
Seriously, these scenes really touched me. I cried like a baby in most of them, especially the one from The Big C.
"Tossed Salads and Scrambled Eggs": Five TV Theme Songs You Know (and Love) By Heart
01. The Big C (
YT)
02. Parenthood (
YT)
03. Misfits (
YT)
04. Chuck (
YT)
05. Weeds (
YT)
Even 'though I don't watch Weeds anymore the different covers of "Little Boxes" were awesome!
Eh: Five Shows You Just Can't Get Into
01. Grey's Anatomy
02. Glee
03. Desperate Housewives
04. Private Practice
05. Entourage
I tried to pick the most popular ones out of the *many* I don't see the appeal. I mean, Grey's? Big prime-time soap opera. Same goes to Desperate Housewives and probably Private Practice. Entourage I *really* wanted to dig, 'cause my friend is a huge follower, but I just couldn't get into it. It isn't awful, but I just... couldn't. As for Glee, well, I've seen promos and the writing seems to be really, *really* weak and lazy. Even a friend of mine who watches it agrees that the writing is less than perfect, to put it *very* gently. Especially when it comes to character progression and a bunch of other stuff she whines about but I don't really listen. I guess there's always the music aspect of it, but let's face it, I'm not exactly crazy about mainstream pop music (not at all gaga over Gaga and such); so, I still don't see the appeal. It gets even worse when the late-twenties-teens decide to cover people I do fancy (Stevie Nicks for instance, who I heard has been covered). Then I'll just find it a blasphemy! It's a lose-lose situation. Besides, I found it in bad taste that the guy behind the show bashed some band that refused to have their songs covered. I mean, dude! it's their prerogative not having their tunes butchered or something. Totally not cool. And I also have a beef with the brunette lead actress. Whoah, that was long :)
The Starting Line-Up: Five Channels You Go To First When You Sit Down to Watch TV
01. TCM
02. Discovery (H&H or T&L)
03. GNT
04. Fox Life
05. Telecine Premium
Not necessarily in that particular order.
This Is An Environment of Welcoming, And You Should Just Get the Hell Out Of Here: Five TV Characters You Could Do Without
01. Pete Campbell (Mad Men)
02. Lucy Jaggat (Being Human UK)
03. Lincoln Lee (Fringe)
04. Mia Lewis (Californication)
05. Eric Foreman (House M.D.)
Well, I have a general problem with little weasels like Pete and Foreman. But I guess my hatred burns brighter for Foreman, who sometimes tries to pose like a sheep in wolves clothing but I've seen your true colours in the beginning of the show, dude. You don't fool me. I guess I'm a bit like Mr. Darcy, once my good opinion is lost, it's lost forever. At least Pete is fun to love to hate. Mia is just highly annoying. Every time she enters the screen my eyes roll. Lucy was a two-faced, misguided fool. And Lincoln, well, he has done nothing wrong. I just didn't feel the character that much (the Lincoln from the other verse, just to be clear. I liked this verse's version of him much better). If he never showed up again I would be cool with it, 'though.
That's What She Said: Five Quotes That Still Resonate
01. "Nostalgia - it's delicate, but potent. Teddy told me that in Greek, "nostalgia" literally means "the pain from an old wound". It's a twinge in your heart far more powerful than memory alone. This device isn't a spaceship, it's a time machine. It goes backwards, and forwards... it takes us to a place where we ache to go again. It's not called the wheel, it's called the carousel. It lets us travel the way a child travels - around and around, and back home again, to a place where we know are loved". (Mad Men 1x13
YT)
02. "Yes. I'd like to congratulate you on succeeding where so many before you have failed. A bullet between the eyes would have been preferable to this charade. But I've learned to pretend over the past nine years - to pretend that my victories mattered only to realize that no one was keeping score. To realize that liars do not fear the truth if there are enough liars. That the devil is just one man with a plan, but evil, true evil, is a collaboration of men, which is what we have here today. If I am a guilty man, my crime is in daring to believe; that the truth will out and that no one lie can live forever. I believe it still. Much as you try to bury it, the truth is out there. Greater than your lies, the truth wants to be known. You will know it. It'll come to you, as it's come to me, faster than the speed of light". (The X Files 9x20)
03. "Everybody lies". (House M.D. Every Other Episode *lol*)
04. "That's me. I'd say I'm sorry to disappoint you... but I'm not. I excel at not giving a shit. Experience has taught me that interest begets expectation, and expectation begets disappointment, so the key to avoiding disappointment is to avoid interest. A equals B equals C equals A, or... whatever. I also don't have a lot of interest in being a good person or a bad person. From what I can tell, either way, you're screwed. Bad people are punished by society's law. And good people... are punished by Murphy's Law. So you see my dilemma". (Dead Like Me 1x01)
05. "You can't be fat and mean, Andrea. You can either be fat and joyous or a skinny bitch. It's up to you". (The Big C 1x01
YT)
Gimme More: Five Shows You Can Never Get Enough Of
01. The X Files
02. Mad Men
03. Dead Like Me
04. Being Human UK
05. Friends
X Files was my first tv show love and until now it's the strongest. Maybe because I was so young, and when we're that age everything is much more intense. But, oh, well, it's still my number one. Mulder and Scully were excellent characters and their saga was a joy to watch. Mad Men, what can I say? Love. Everything about it. Dead Like Me was love at first sight and Bryan Muller creates characters and atmosphere like no other. It's a shame his talent is never well recognized, since they cancel his shows way too early. Anyways, DLM is witty, funny, sarcastic, touching... I could watch it all day long. Being Human is awesome as well. Quirky and well-written. Too bad the guy who plays Mitchell is leaving. My favourite OT3 will be broken, for fucks sakes! That's why I left him out of the picture above. As punishment. Well, thank God Mitchell was never my favourite character. But it still sucks. Friends? No words. Always loved, still catch re-runs whenever I can. And still laugh out loud at every joke, and Ross and Rachel? One of my first favourite couples. LOBSTERS *lol* ;)
That's all for now :D
