I'm procrastinating... yet again.
So, here's another music meme :)
Sharing Music Meme: (Share Is Care)
List 10 songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your blog along with your 10 songs. Tag ten people to do the same. I don't do tagging; so, feel free to nab it if you wish.
In alphabetical order... because, yes, I'm totally anal.
#01.
The Cave by Mumford & Sons
Man, how amazing this tune is! The lyrics, the passion in the vocals, the banjo... yes, the banjo! Everything about it rules.
#02.
Changes by Stars
I've always loved Stars, and their last album didn't disappoint at all. Changes was (well *is*, since I'm always listening to it) one of my favourite tracks. Neck to neck with Dead Hearts, which I also always listen to.
#03.
Falling by Florence And The Machine
The lyrics alone is... wow! Add to that Florence's killer voice, and bangin' intonation, and we've got ourselves a bloody brilliant hit. I was seriously hooked from the first day I've listened to it.
#04.
Foolish by Ra Ra Riot
It's one of those contagious rhythms, and it got me bad.
#05.
Heart Skipped A Beat by The xx
I especially love the interaction between the guy's and the girl's voice in this track. One of my favourites by them for sure. Definitely a well known tune to my headphones these days.
#06.
King Of Anything by Sara Bareilles
What can I say? You can't scrub it out of your head. Trust me, I've tried! Great song for singing in the shower, which -- I must confess -- I do more than often.
#07.
New Romantic by Laura Marling
Lately I rediscovered my immense love for this song, and since then it's been making its way to my playlist pretty usually (to put it mildly).
#08.
Picture Window by Ben Folds
Too beautiful and emotional for words. Plus, there's something cathartic about belting out the words: "You know what hope is? Hope is a bastard, hope is a liar, a cheat and a tease. Hope comes near you, kick its backside, got no place in days like these". God bless Nick Hornby's lyrics!
#09.
Rootless Tree (Live From Abbey Road) by Damien Rice
Me and Rice. Rice and me. It's simply a neverending love story. Lately I'm really into this live version of Rootless Tree. Never someone telling you to f*ck yourself sounded so sweet. Honest to God.
#10.
Skip The Charades by Cold War Kids
It was love at first listening. *Definitely* my favourite track of their latest new album, and to be honest it's a brilliant track. With amazing lyrics.
#11.
You Have Been Loved by Sia
It's impossible to not be touched by this song. It's merely so, so, so beautiful. And heartbreaking. Sia's peculiar voice adds even more melancholy to this breathtaking tune. Being a sucker for sad songs this one fit right in. I listen to it always.
That's it, folks! (I know it was only 10 songs, but I couldn't bear to strike out another tune from my list!)
A few things more:
a) I *finally* had a date with Misfits this past Sunday, and after spending the whole day catching up with both seasons I can safely say that... it's LOVE. L-O-V-E, my friends. I loved everything about it. I laughed hard, I cried, I awwww-ed... it's really got everything! The only problem is that I can't wait for season 3;
b) I'm totally pissed with Mad Men not coming back this second semester as per usual, instead only showing its face early NEXT year! WTF?! I need my yearly Draper dose, can't you suits see that? Just show everyone involved the money and get it over with! Jesus!
c) Was really glad to hear that Henry Cavill was chosen to be the new face of my favourite super-hero ever: Superman! I know it's not really *fresh* news, but I had to express my joy. I like Amy Adams, and find her really pretty, but I still have my doubts about her being Lois Lane. Still, am *so* glad that Bosworth is history.
d) Lastly, I feel sick and disgusted by the fact that I've spent the last few hours checking out clips on YouTube of a certain couple, from a certain show that I would certainly despise, if it weren't so insignificant and lame that doesn't even merit my acknowledgement. In fact, I've checked *all* of their scenes together! And I'm utterly ashamed to say that I've enjoyed it... Their interactions, their back-and-forth, their chemistry, for God sakes, even their dialogue! In my defense there weren't that many scenes, since (judging by YouTube clips) they are sort of a new development; and I've only watched *their* scenes. I haven't touched the rest of the show. That would be too gross! I'll never mention their names, or the name of said show out loud. Not even under severe torture! I just had to confess to the cyberspace and make peace with it. If you excuse me, I need to take a long, long shower now. I feel so dirty...
