Hamsteriacs & Rodent Enthusiasts:
Spring is sprung. Rain is coming down in buckets. And giant
hamsters are roaming the Earth.
Ahh yes, Earth Day is near...
The Hamster team is proud to announce we've been invited to this
year's Austin Earth Day Festival, to take part in the Green
Scene Scavenger Hunt:
http://www.austinearthday.com/hunt.htmlhttp://www.austinearthday.com/artisans.html this Saturday, April 21st
downtown - 4th & Guadalupe - at Republic Square park
We will be one of the many stations that teams will stumble
upon, allowing one of their team to climb into a hamster wheel
and work with a team of three of us to move the hamster from
point A to point B. Teamwork is the quest.
Pretty cool stuff.
---->And we need your help to pull it off!<----
We are currently seeking the following volunteer roles:
*loading crew - GJMJ + 2 people - FRIDAY 7-8pm (at GJMJ home) -
to get the 1st load of the hamster onto the trailer
*loading crew - GJMJ + 2 people - Sat 7:30a-8:30am (at GJMJ
home) - to get the 2nd load of the hamster onto the trailer
*unload crew - GJMJ + 2 people - Sat 8:30am-9:30am (at 4th/Guad)
- to help unload the hamster at event
*assembly crew - GJMJ + 1 person - Sat 9:30-11am (at 4th/Guad) -

*hamster wheels! - GJMJ + 1 person - Sat 11a-4pm (at 4th/Guad) -
you get to run your own wheel in the hamster during the
scavenger hunt...no prior experience necessary. Fun stuff!
*breakdown crew - GJMJ + 2 people - Sat 4-6pm (at 4th/Guad) -
help GJMJ load hamster onto trailer, transport back home (2
trips)
Ideally, if we could get 1 or 2 of you to spend a day with us on
Saturday from 7:30am-6pm, that'd be awesome. But, I know how
busy we all are with Flipside preparations, work days and other
art installations.
-->So, all I ask is one or two hours from a handful of folks.
Just give us a hand so we can get it on the trailer...I'll be
honest, I'm cursing the fact we made Hammie so big that Garreth
and I can't move him ourselves. Alas, we must rely on the
kindness (and strength) of others.
Help a sista out.
Help a brit out.
Help hammie out.
Breakfast tacos and/or yummy lunch for those who volunteer.
Plus, celebratory beers afterwards at 6:01pm...
If you're available for any of the times above (or all of them),
please post below. It really requires three or more folks to
lift him.
Thanks a million...
moving into nano-technology, I SWEAR,
