New Manip - Spike

Feb 11, 2008 22:30

Manipped the cover from Spike: Old Times onto a Hellblazer background (I don't know the names of the original artists) and added some wording in an attempt to give it the look of a comic/graphic novel cover. A different style, and fun at that. :-)

ETA: Knowledgeable members of my flist have come through! Artist of Spike: Old Times is Frank ( Read more... )

I'm completely in love with this!
If it's all right with you, I'd like to use this pic as background on my lj.

...off to take a look around at your art ;)

And thank you!

Thank you!
I'm still trying to work out some of the colours and it'll probably look wonky on everyone else's monitor 'cause of my unusual resolution... but I love it! :D

Credit's in the sidebar. Hope it's ok.

It looks great - love the whole color scheme! And I like how it stays in place while you scroll, unlike a top banner.

I just looked at your layout again because I haven't seen one like this before, and I really, really like it. Is it possible to get the coding in case I want to use something similar in the future? (I wouldn't copy the colors, etc., of course, and would use different art, but the layout itself.) I like how the 'header' stays in place.

I'm still a little bit amazed that you like it so much *grins*

It's pretty simple 'cause I've used the Flexible Squares layout with Machine color scheme. I've then modified some of the colors picking them from your manip with Colorzilla dropper tool. Feel free to use them if you want, I've taken them from you in the first place ;)

I'm not too good with explanations as english is not my mother tongue so I took some screenshots of the things I modified in the Customize area, such as presentation, colors, images and custom CSS.
The only bit of coding is the one I used to set the colors of the boxes titles in the sidebar and I've got it here.

Hope I've not been too confusing; if you need anything else just drop me a line at rae_isha(at)katamail(dot)com

*hugs*

Thanks so much for the info. I'm saving it for future reference. I rarely change my layout and sometimes I think I need to embrace change just a bit more readily. :-)

As always - I love the piece - I have a great admiration for your Buffyverse work - Love your banner, especially the text, wonderful use of language.

So glad you like! I've tinkered with this manip a couple of times - it's my very favorite of Spike. The base is just so - yummy... :-)
