So, I watched Ocean's 12 tonight.
Overall, blech, it wasn't not at all a good movie.
I site three reasons.
1. Cameras - They attempted to use a more informal, camcorder-esque camera scheme, and it was wholly inappropriate for the movie. Completely detracted from the story telling, distracting more than anything else.
2. Fragmentary - All of the scenes were short, and very few were directly related. This led to a disjointed storyline that was difficult to follow, and did very little to further the story line.
3. Too much Deus Ex Machina - The end of the plotline relied HEAVILY on major story points that weren't even alluded to in the earlier script. (as little as I want to, this is an appropriate place to use it) The previous movie, while using a large amount of perhaps conufusing story points at the end, were all alluded to in earlier parts of the movie, and, as such, pulled the entire script together. This movie, however, neglected those parts, and lost the cohesiveness that made the first movie good, leaving this sequal flat and shallow.
those are my thoughts on the movie.....
