I Shot A Man In Reno Just To Watch Him Die
So I went and saw Walk The Line...AND LOVED THE FUCK OUT OF IT!! I've been a fan of Johnny Cash for a long while and was REALLY hoping that they wouldn't fuck this movie up. I've read the books (Cash by Johnny Cash of course), bought the albums, etc. and over time really developed a deep apprectiation for the man, not just the music. He was Elvis before Elvis was Elvis...and yes I know they were both on Sun Records at the same time, Johnny just did it more convincingly. You can really see the chemisty between Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon on screen and they do TREMENDOUS justice to one of the great rock n' roll romances of all time. Can't wait for the DVD and all the special feature goodness that will come with it. Everybody is screaming Oscar but I'm solidly convinced that it won't win a damn thing, even though it should. Ray won last year and awards people are fickle bitches. If you haven't seen it yet I HEARTILY encourage you to. It's the best eight bucks you'll spend this year.
