Just to update, I did not get into the play, but I think assistant directing will be a good experience. Oh, and the cast list was pretty interesting, a couple of really talented actresses did not get in, including one who has gotten the lead or almost the lead in every theatre department production she's tried out for. It seems like a good cast though, I think it will be an interesting show.
Also, I'm pretty sure that I LOVE my classes this semester! This will be the first semester that I really like all four classes, as long as my opinion doesn't change. I am taking workshop physics, sociology of the body, perspectives on 20th century Central and Eastern European literature (say that 5 times fast), and ethnic conflict and the media (which is also in the Russian and Eastern European studies department). I'm kind of hoping that I might learn enough about Central and Eastern Europe to find some way to justify applying for a Fulbright or something. That may be a long shot, but perhaps the idea will keep me motivated.
I'm having a fondue party Saturday! I hope people come! If not, more fondue for me!
I totally think I hear mice in my ceiling right now and it's creepy.
