My friend and co-worker Mark, his wife Stacia (who used to work here) and a close friend of theirs are all missing after going for a day hike at Snoqualmie Pass this weekend. No one knew they were missing until yesterday when both of them failed to show up for work. They just started the search for them this morning.
SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. -- The King County Sheriff's Office said there is an active search and rescue effort in progress at Snow Lake, a popular wilderness trail on Snoqualmie Pass.
A total of three hikers who went for a day hike on Friday are missing.
Snow Lake is located near the Alpental ski area in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness area of Snoqualmie Pass. The lake is at 4,000 feet elevation.
Two feet of new snow fell in the area on Saturday, forecasters said.
