(no subject)
My uncle came over today, and told me some interesting news about my father. For those who don't know, me and my biological father are estranged. We're basically on an out of sight, out of mind relationship. A new family will do that to you. Well, to him at least. Anyway, my uncle lives just a couple of houses down from my father, and they chat every once in awhile. Apparantly, when my uncle told him that he was coming to visit me, he had started to cry. Like, REALLY cry. He told my uncle that he had been meaning to tell me so many things for the past few years, yet everytime he sees me, he chokes up and doesn't have the strength to do it. He then proceeded to show my uncle a bunch of pictures of me that he's managed to save over the past few years.
Man, I don't know what to make of it. This man has been no influence in my life whatsoever, yet there are some things in my life that I got from him that I'm proud of. My art and creativity being the major one. I'm not one to hold grudges. I'm not religious by any means, but I do believe that forgiveness is a strong, moral quality to have. I can forgive him, but I won't be able to forget, as easily as he has forgotten me. Or so I thought before today. *sigh* Maybe one day he'll be able to stop being a coward, look me in the eyes and talk to me in all honesty. Then, we could put things behind us before something happens and it is too late.
Anyway, other than that, everything went fine. The Hippy Dude leaves tomorrow. Kinda glad that I didn't go to any theme parks with them b/c my little cousin and his friend = annoying as hell. ALMOST done with BSG Season One. Onto Arrested Development Season 2 and rewatching Roswell. woot! Went to Verizon today to get my phone checked since its been literally on the blink and I can't see crap on the screen. It's still on warranty so gonna get brand spankin new phone in 2 days no charge and all ringtones credited so i don't have to buy them again woohoo! And since this week is gonna be really wacky here is it if anyone wants to make plans
