One of my favorite by-products of visitors - an excuse to do stuff, especially stuff you haven't allowed yourself to check out on your own! A late-ish thanks to
thinkpink55 for opening up my eyes to more cool stuff right in front of my nose.
Case-in-point 1:
Nu Look Consignment. Omigod, what a find! Not since Des Moines' Bargain Basket have I stumbled upon such a goldmine of goodies. $4.50 jeans with the perfect amount of worn-in-ness. 'Nuff said.
Case-in-point 2:
The Imperial Room. Downtown's most generous happy hour in a non-stuffy yet classy atmosphere. And almost as many martini selections as
the Lift...aww, the Lift. Hahaha for precisely the same price as those worn-in jeans.
The Faint show was solid and a rockin' good time, but not sure if it lived up to the hype. You would have thought that a band that came on at 11:30 pm would at least play for more than an hour. I was pleased that each song was short enough for my wandering attention span, but who dares play 9 tracks before pulling an encore? I did totally enjoy the 1981 Pink Floyd time warp vibe, complete with underage hipster B.O.
