The Scarlet Witch walks up behind him. "How many?" she asks.

[synthezoid]

He is still punching buttons on the console.

I am reading power signatures from six, in a widely-spread out area. There may be more still dormant.

[wanda_maximoff]

She looks at the display on the monitor. "I can volunteer, if you can give me more information on their structure so I know how they're likely to break."

[synthezoid]

A new image appears on the screen. A rough humanoid form, displayed with internal schematics.

They appear to be based on the Fixer's android technology. There is a schematic of one of his designs. The two of us should be able to handle this, especially as I am not showing anyone else in the Mansion at the moment. I will summon Jarvis to monitor channels until others return.

He has still not turned.

[wanda_maximoff]

Wanda studies the schematics, then says, very quietly, "Can we work together?"

He pauses in his work, and then turns.

I have no problems doing so.

A pause.

I am sorry, Wanda. I was merely preoccupied with the problem.

[wanda_maximoff]

"I couldn't tell." She toys with the necklace at her throat. "I can't tell what you're feeling any more. Not like I used to."

The Vision nods, a very precise motion.

Truthfully, I am no longer as connected to my emotional responses as I once was.

We should depart. Those automatons need to be contained.

[wanda_maximoff]

She nods. "Some other time, though ... if we ever find a moment when there isn't even a minor crisis at hand ... I think we should talk."

She turns and heads out of the monitor room.

[synthezoid]

Vision follows, walking briskly.

I agree. We...I have neglected our relationship.

[wanda_maximoff]

"I thought you didn't want any kind of relationship with me," she says as they walk. "Divorce decrees have a way of ending relationships, after all."

[synthezoid]

We are teammates. Even if our relationship is now purely professional, it is a fact we must live with. I have taken our being able to work together for granted, and that was a mistake.

They arrive at a Quinjet that is already beginning to power up. The Vision boards and moves to the pilot's chair.

[wanda_maximoff]

She seats herself in the co-pilot's chair and buckles herself in. Folding her hands in her lap, she says, "I've finally gotten accustomed to being your teammate and not your wife, I think. But I still miss you. I will for a while, I think. Despite the decree and ... everything." She adjusts her headdress. "It's just the way it is. I'm working on accepting that, too."

We should indeed speak more about things when there is not a crisis facing us.

And with that the Quinjet flies out of the hangar and into the skies, leaving a flaming trail on its way north.
