The Stealth team for the assault on the New Mexico base should be assembling soon, so Cable can bodyslide them to where they need to be. He's got his GPS navigator set on a chair, working on determining the right coordinates, monitoring their communications traffic, all that good stuff

"These." he begins gesturing to the cloak and the other articles of clothing.
"Are composed of a composite polymer fabric containing trace iron, ruthenium and osmium octaethylporphyrin. Thanks to a few recent discoveries I have made in the areas of nanotechnology, I've interwoven micro circuitry into the fabric itself that allows for a control unit working with several mounted microdot optical receivers to control the specific refraction attunement of each fiber. Unlike previous porphyrinic molecular metals in which the conduction electrons are macrocyclicbased, electron transport in these materials proceeds exclusively along the metal-pyrazine backbone in the micro circuitry."
He looks to the crowd, seeming impressed with himself, and then realizes he's encountering mostly blank faces.
"It means, that when you turn on the control unit, you'll be rendered virtually invisible across the electro magnetic spectrum. Someone directly observing you in such a state might see a distorion in the air but only if they look closely. The ongoing chameleon corrections the control unit makes only has a delay time of one hundredth of a second. The power cell in each outfit will give you about thirty minutes of concealment. Unfortunately ultrasonic and micro-air pressure change detectors will not be fooled by the stealth suits."
"Furthermore the fabirc also contains micro-capsules of dicyclopentadiene and a polymorphic catalyst. When the fabirc is torn or ripped it causes the dicyclopentadiene to be leaked, which in turn reacts with the ruthenium catalyst particles, triggering a metathesis polymerization reaction. This cross-links the DCPD into a sticky material, which is able to seal the breach. The polymer fabric itself is only .1 micron thick and has been layered over an enhanced kevlar weave that has also been woven using micro-lite nano construction techniques, which makes the cloth also function as a kind of light armor."
He looks about to make certain that he should go on. Sometimes his audience doesn't keep up with his explanations...

A concealment cloak? This can't be what has Mystique all wet. He's seen the woman blend in with wallpaper.

Well, other than, say, stopping world hunger or finding a cure for AIDS. But still.
She nods at Forge. She has no problem keeping up.

Monet, though not as technologically adept as Kitty, has been following fairly well so far. Her face registers the same haughty, bored expression as usual, however.

"These as you probably guessed are contact lenses. They are also capable of providing the wearer with thermographic vision, flare protection, and low light vision enhancement. The contacts are linked to the control units in the stealth suits. A simple tap on the control unit here, and you can rotate through the different modes. Which brings us to these..."
Forge produces a box of what seem to be steel marbles.
"These are robotic scout probes. Each set of contact lenses are linked to five probes. Cycle to the 'viewing mode' and you can see what they see. "
He then produces sets of tiny ear plug looking devices.
"These are communication buds, fitted with intelligent routing functions which allows you not only to sub-vocalize to each other but also allows you to control the scout drones.. Each of your scout bots are numbered one through five, although you can reassign thier designations as you see fit. Speak the scout designation and the instructions and the indicated scout will carry them out. Observe..."
Forge places one of the plugs in his ear and says,
"One, activate."
One of the steel marbles pops to life, extruding four spider-like legs and opening a small dot of an occulus near it's top.
"One, stealth mode."
The scout fades from view. Those with 'beyond normal' sight can still see the faint outline of the robot in Forge's hand.
"The scouts have a communication range of about a mile, and communicate through hyper-wave transmission passing through N-Space. Unless you're raiding Doctor Doom, The Baxter Building or the Palace of Wakanda, no one's going to pick those transmissions up.
The scout bots can see through the normal vision spectrum and also infrared and ultraviolet ranges. Their auditory filtering and detection capabilities are comparable to a cat's.
These things aren't designed to take a hit, they're reconnaissance devices only, so don't expect them to take on anyone. They are however equipped with laser probes and tiny cutting devices that should be able to cut through most wires and cables. Combined with the probes they could even rewire a circuit board if you had the time and patience to talk them through each motion. Micro climbing armatures at the end of their extremities should allow them to traverse most surfaces. "

Still, it was a sweet gesture on Forge's part. "I'd rather keep a spare set for future use." She wonders if they have recording capabilities. These could be incredibly useful in Congress.

He still hopes he gets to use one of the really big guns.

"Okay, that's the stealth tech. I've also included a 'standard kit' for each of you. General hi-tech 'Breaking and Entering' stuff mostly but there are also emergency medical supplies that shouldn't require any more training than a basic field medic to use."
He takes a breath.
"Okay, in the event your cover is blown, I've included a few other items."
He hold up a small black sphere.
"This is a modified version of a smoke grenade. It can be set to go off on impact, after a countdown or by proximity movement. The grenade disperses a stinging cloud of irritants and suspended particles that will effectively blind electromagnetic scans. Passing through the cloud, you will experience a drop in the ambient temperature. This will make thermal detection useless. Try not to breath the stuff if you can. It won't do permanent damage, but it will act like tear gas to the respiratory system if inhaled. Gas filter masks are included in your kits."
He produces a set of odd looking belts.
"These are shield belts. Yes I got the idea from Frank Herbert. Like the sci-fi that inspired these gadgets, they will produce a kinetic field around the wearer when activated. High velocity projectiles and energy weapons will be deflected by the screen. Slow moving attack however, will penetrate the shield. The protection however is short lived as it is a power hog to run. Five minutes tops and it will show up like a signal flare to EM sensors when turned on. So don't use them unless you have to."
He then hesitates and then produces the final item of the presentation. It looks like a domino tile but without the spots. Forge handles it with special care as he holds it aloft.
"There are only two of these. One for Cable and one for Mystique. Should you emerge from the operation without having used one or both of them, return them to me." His eye pauses on Mystique for a moment. His common sense is having a hard time with letting these babies out in the open.
"These, I call 'Tesseract Bombs'. Squeezing one hard will activate a three second countdown. When the countdown reaches zero, the mechanism inside will cause a localized disruption of spatial geometry in a fifty foot radius around it. Anything caught within the area of effect will literally be pulled apart and inside out. They are only to be used in the most extreme and desperate of situations. Hopefully...they won't be needed."
And he's finished. Cable wanted only stealth and espionage items but he threw in the more volatile items because when it came down to it, they had to succeed. His people were facing genocide and he has known that specter before.

Screw the Cultists. He's got a shield belt and a light saber. This is the best bloody day he's had in years.

She leaves them to it and heads across the room. Forge never looks happy after opening the Vault. She leans against the wall next to him, not yet taking the Tesseract Bomb. "Impressive, Maker. How long did you go without sleep after designing that one?"

"I never thought I'd use them. They were side discoveries I made while trying to configure a stable zone of folded space."
With the resurgence of Doctor Who on the BBC, Forge eventually succumbed to the inevitable lure of trying to build his own TARDIS. Fortunately for both Time and Space, he hasn't made much headway so far.
Looking over to Mystique he half pleads,
"I'm not going to regret letting these out in the open am I?"
