Repairs on Attilan had been long and ardous after the attack, and Crystal's elemental manipulation had been important for rebuilding the city. She'd kept track of Luna's progress periodically and had managed a couple of brief visits to Earth over the past few months, but it was only now that the repairs were complete. In this case, no one could complain that the princess had shirked her duties to the Inhuman people. She oversaw repairs, used her gifts to contribute to them personally, and grieved with those who had lost. Now it was time for a break.
She appeared on the doorstep of Avengers' Mansion, with some of her belongings in a suitcase and with hope that they would be willing to welcome her back as a team member. With Luna on Earth at the Xavier Institute, Crystal wanted to be accessible to her daughter. She still wanted Luna to get the boarding school experience. As much as she hated to admit that Pietro was right, he was right about this. Luna had become spoiled, and she needed to gain life experience with other children. There was also the matter of her powers. Professor Xavier was the better choice for teaching Luna how to use her newfound gifts.
In spite of wanting to be accessible to Luna, Crystal kept her arrival a secret for now. She wanted to see if the Avengers were willing to take her on as a teammate again before telling Luna that she'd be here to stay for a while. She also wanted to make her visit a bit of a surprise - she planned to contact the school to make sure they knew to expect her, but she wanted to surprise Luna.
Knocking on the door of Avengers' Mansion, Crystal waited to see who would answer.
