A Long Goodbye

((OOC: Bendy timed to a week after the final events of Crisis of Faith. Also, opened to any X-Men/New X-Men/X-Kids who would feel the need to go to Sophie's funeral.))

The house was somewhere between a large house and a small mansion. Not many in the local neighborhood had turned out for the funeral of Sophie Cuckoo. Most of the neighborhood had kept a wide berth from the five girls, their glowing eyes and their total lack of respect for anyone's privacy.

The house had been cleaned and set up for the luncheon after the funeral. Their parents hadn't wanted to use the church. So after the funeral, the burial - at which point their mother had almost passed out and fell into the grave - and all that, everyone came here.

The remaining quints didn't comment on how life like Sophie had looked. Or how their older sister's twins had asked why their aunt was sleeping in a box. Or how you could hear their mother crying both silently and out loud about the fate of her baby.

The four remaining sisters sat in the parlor, away from the display on the table in the dining room that had pictures and trinkets all relating to their sister in the middle. They ignored and refused food their brother, sister, brother-in-law and parents tried to bring them.

The sooner this was over, in all their minds, the better. They were almost looking forward to leaving Connecticut in favor of school once more.
