Wake Up

((Takes place after the Big Fight at Xavier's; open to anyone))

Sal was surprised, when she woke up some days later, to be feeling no pain. Mind, she wasn't quite ready to open her eyes and look around.

Mostly because she had a vivid idea of what she'd see when she did.

She remembered being lit on fire, she remembered growing cold, and then passing out. It was likely that she was on copious amounts of morphine while they decided what to do with her. She was likely burned to a crisp. She may have had a harder time burning than other people, but she still --

She was stubborn. She wanted to see. Her eyes opened a crack, ready to see the tubes keeping her alive and the bandages from head to toe.

When all she saw was herself, dressed in a pair of pyjamas that someone had likely gotten down from her and Mel's room, and no blackened epidermis, burn jelly, or even morphine drip, she was exceedingly confused. The only thing really wrong with her was the fact that one of her wrists was in a brace and she'd apparently broken a finger, which was likewise held in place with a splint. Also, they'd given her an electric blanket, which certainly helped because she still felt cold.

Well then. She had no idea how this had happened, but figured she'd take a miracle where she could find one.

Because, if what she remembered about the fight was the truth, there wouldn't be too many more of them.

She looked to and fro, hoping she'd see someone she knew alive.

aero, sal gillam
