"Let's see. Spider-Man is a menace. Captain America is the greatest patriotic hero ever. Hulk smash. Mutants are a menace, but not as bad a menace as Spider-Man. Good to know that the news is never new." Kitty Pryde poured herself another cup of coffee and slathered some whipped honey butter on her croissant. She watched as the butter melted before tearing off a piece and popping it in her mouth. She chewed on it thoughtfully for a moment, enjoying it's sweet, buttery flakiness. She wasn't sure if it was good or bad that the world around her never seemed to change as much as she'd like it to. It was great that Captain America got his love and adoration from the public and all, but it seemed as though that day for mutants in general was still pretty far away. Sure, there had been some mild acceptance of mutants in general, but overall?
I really do wish there was some way to change it, she mused, popping another bit of croissant in her mouth. Though I honestly don't know how. She took a sip of her coffee and scrunched up her nose. Sugar. It needed more sugar. She spooned in a couple of teaspoonfuls and stood up, taking a sip. Perfect. She left the rest of her croissant untouched and started walking to her office. She needed to sit for awhile and think. Go over some things in her head.
Things had gotten...bad recently. And the news was reporting it, but perhaps not as much as Kitty would have liked them to. It seemed - to Kitty at least - that as the days went by and by, mutants were starting to have less of a voice. Not that they had much of one to begin with. Still, they still had such a long way to go in these matters, and Kitty knew that there was something more that she could be doing. She just didn't know what that was.
Kitty needed some advice. She turned on her heel and started walking away from the direction of her office. She needed to talk to someone who she could trust, someone seasoned and experienced. Someone who could guide her.
She needed to talk to Logan.
