Viper paced back and forth while she waited for those fool scientists to do their jobs. The first batch of the serum had been…disappointing. The transformation had taken entirely too long and the dose need had been too high. She needed something with a low dosage and worked quickly. She's not out for long. She just needs a few things from the store for Christmas. Peter and Mary Jane can make it this time and most of the people in the boarding house have nowhere else to go; so far away from family most of them. Poor dears. Well, enough of that!

"I wonder if I should make fruitcake..."

The old woman wasn't going to get a chance to make that fruitcake. Hey, they was doing the world a favor. One less fruitcake in it was always a good thing.

He looked at his partner and nodded. Once the old woman passed the spot where they hid in an alley, they slipped out of the shadows right behind her.

She has lived her long enough to sense trouble. She quicken her pace, looking for an open shop to duck into to dissuade the young men.

The two thugs realized she quickened her pace and they broke out into a jog. As soon as they were close enough, one tried to wrap his arms around her.

May turns around at the last minute and beans him with her shopping bag. There's a frozen turkey for 10 in there.

"HELP! OH, HELP!"

One of the thugs falls to the ground like a prom dress on prom night. The other thug grabs the turkey and tosses it away. Then he tries to grab the old woman.

She screams more. "FIRE! THE BUILDING! OH GOD!" And stomps hard on his foot.

He grunted as the foot slammed down on his. The old lady had some spunk. He clamped a hand over her mouth and prayed she didn't bite him with her dentures.

She tries, but she's a tiny, old lady. There's only so much the Y teaches in self-defense courses. She would stomp on his foot but she's been lifted into the air so all she can do is squirm and kick.

He carries her like that. Struggling and kicking, but he's bigger and can carrying her like that. He didn't even stop to see if his partner was getting up or not.

His partner wasn't getting up. Being webbed to the ground made that next to impossible.

"Ok, let me guess, someone wants a grandma for christmas so you thought you'd steal someone elses?"

The Amazingly pissed off Spider-Man dropped out of the sky, blocking the guys way out.

"Put. Her. Down. Gently, mind you. Nice old ladies are rare and valuable, I'd like that one to stay in mint condition."

Oh crap! He started backing up, still holding the struggling old woman.

Despite being maybe 90 pounds soaking wet she's smart and has a better then average idea where to hit, including now this guy's knees.

"Ow!" the thug cried and tightened his hold on the old woman.

Under the mask, he had to smile a bit.

"Now, we can do this the easy way, or the hard way. You can let her go..."

He webbed the thug's feet to the ground.

"...or she can kick your butt, and I'll make sure all your friends hear about it."

Seeing that he didn't have a choice at this point, he put the old woman down on her feet and released his hold.
