Something was going on at Time Square, they heard rumblings from where they were currently searching. Sooraya had long since been sent home. Jean-Paul however, has gone home long enough to change to his uniform and came back again.
When he entered the square, the man fell to his knees staring up and the tears flowed freely down his cheeks, the lords prayer coming almost instinctively to his lips.

"He is alive!" Jean-Paul shot up to Jay in a millisecond.
"Joshua, hold on, we will get you out of this." The tears still free flowing down his cheeks, not only did he feel responsible for this, but his heart broke. Jean-Paul was an abrasive son of a bitch, but he was also a teacher, and although he didn't show it often he cared deeply for every student in that school.
"You have too much to live for." He grabbed on to Jay, holding him up to take away the tension of the ropes on his arms and legs. Hoping and praying that someone would be there to cut those lines.
"You will get your wings back child." He promised as he held him up, he was already exhausted but he would do it for as long as it takes. The promise he felt was empty, but he needed to give Jay hope even if it was false.
"Remember, Elixir was able to give Anole back his arm, he will be able to do it for you too."
Ms. Marvel had shot towards Times Square as soon as she'd heard of what had been going on. Things would get ugly. Fast.
It always did when there were mutants involved.
And it wasn't even their fault.
Her eyes searched the crowd.
They were close to getting crazy.
She'd jump in there and control them soon, but first...
"Northstar," Carol said, hovering near him. "Let me help."
She sucked in her breath, horrified at what they'd done to the boy. His wings...the blood... No matter how much of this the woman had seen in her time, when it came to someone who was still a child...it hurt her.
"Bless you Carol." Jean-Paul, too tired to remember that he'd left his faith long ago.
"Sooraya is safe, you worry about you and we'll take care of the rest." He said to Jay. "Just hold on, your healing factor will kick in, and we'll be fine."
Carol finished cutting Jay out, her eyes on Jean-Paul.
The man looked exhausted.
The moment Icarus was loose, Carol grabbed on to him as gently as possible, bearing his weight.
"Let me do this," she said to the mutant. "You look like you're about to fall over."
Her first thought was to call SHIELD to step in and help, but figuring that maybe the X-Men might not want SHIELD interference, she instead headed straight for the X-Corporation building.
They would have doctors there.
People who could help the boy.
I hope. Please, please don't let this be another bad call.
