Doomed to Repeat

Some time ago, Genis-Vell faced an impossible moral quandary, and it broke him utterly. Then he broke everything else in the universe utterly. When he put it back together again, he added something to it, albeit subconsciously. He gave himself a little sister to keep him honest ( Read more... )

Alone, perhaps, but not without direction.

Soon, Captain Marvel will find himself at the Kyln. The ancient prison powered by the energies of the Crunch - the gateway into the Negative Zone.

The Negative Zone. Where his father used to be banished when he shared a molecular structure with Rick Jones.

There's a glance to his negabands. Wondering if he wasn't drawn here by his oosmic awareness. Perhaps there is a clue here as to how he and Rick may divest themselves of each other and end the co-dependence.

Or perhaps there are simply residual energies from that time that can be manipulated by a Cosmic Control Rod for other reasons.

Such as drawing the negabands back again.

Genis floats a little closer to the Kyln. Studying the cells to try and discern who's being held here.

Instinctively, he tries to delve into his cosmic awareness to tell him the answers... but there doesn't seem to be any access. Even their glow is dulled.

"Rick?" he says, wondering if he's lost more than the awareness...

"Still here. Where else would I be?"

He pauses.

It is not.

Suddenly, twin tendrils of energy punch out from the Crunch and lock onto Genis-Vell's wrists.

Surprise. SURPRISE. This is strange this is "ARGH!"

Pain wracks his body how did I not see this coming before he is unceremoniously pulled with a sudden jerk directly into that massive swirling font of cosmic energy called the Crunch.

Genis vanishes, much like his sister did elsewhere.

Leaving Jones in the Microverse, lacking any communication with the universe outside his new prison.

"Marv? MARV!"

In the Microverse, Rick frowns.

"He's.. gone."
