Off the grid
Three weeks had passed since he got the report about the scuffle between Natasha and the Belova woman. Three weeks and not one sign of Natasha. There had been any activity on any of her credit cards or bank accounts, unusual for someone like the Widow who liked to shop. His agents assigned to stakeout the safe house she had been holed up in had reported in and said they hadn't seen her come or go. Even the tracker he had implanted in her wasn't working.
Nick Fury was concerned. Natasha had been acting strangely according to Logan and Steve and if those two were concerned, Nick was doubly concerned. He didn't need his weapon going crazy. The woman was dangerous and couldn't be left running loose.
Nick went to the one person who might have a clue where Natasha was. Murdock. It was still early in the morning and Nick slipped into Murdock's office. He lit up a cigar and sat down in Murdock's chair to wait.
