Dani had, once she'd gotten even just a little bit settled in, gone looking for Josh's new paramour. After all, she felt protective towards the boy and didn't want to let him get entangled up with someone who was gonna be no damned good for him. And while she remembered and knew Laurie from her squad, that was before everyone's life turned this way and that.

He, of course, being the boy he was, was wildly enthusiastic about Laurie and everything she had going on.
