Frost Enterprises's skyscraper wasn't the biggest in New York City, nor the most ostentatious. But it managed to give a feel of solidity and strength without compromising the building's essential beauty.
Most of these details were lost on Erik Magnus Lehnsherr. The elevator ride to the top floor was quick and near-silent, but they may as well have stuck him in the middle of a Norwegian churchburner concert while spinning along all three axes. Everything annoyed him today. Even the weight of his new bracelet - one that duplicated the circuit designs in his helmet in a far more portable and less attention-getting form - annoyed him. His entire reason for being here, in New York, enraged him.
If Emma's company was fabricating parts and materiel intended for Project: Wideawake like he'd heard that they were, he'd tear her pretty building down around her diamond ears.
He stepped out of the elevator - which promptly shorted out and died behind him. Even the lights flickered in the lobby as he passed, not to mention radio and cellular transmissions drowning in their own static.
"I wish to speak to Emma Frost." he told the receptionist in a tone that would brook _no_ disobedience. "Now."
