It had been two days when a small fire broke out in lower Manhattan office building, which was only 15 stories tall. It turned out to be a fuse that lit one of the offices rooms in the center of the building on fire on the 13th floor. It had been lunch time so the majority of the workers were out of the building and all save a few janitors, CEO of a small company, and five various officer workers were caught on the 15th floor.
Abigail had been there that day, walking back from a group study session at a new friend’s house. Middle of the day, and it was small stuff. The fire department was tangled up and goodness knows what street level heroes do during in the middle of the day. But… it had been cold enough that morning and bright enough for Abby to wear a non-descript hoodie and pair of sunglasses.
Not too many people on the street that day. Less in the allies. And she heard people crying from the rooftops…
The cloud managed to hold her and the weight of two others if she held on tight enough to them. First went a janitor and one of the office workers, father and mother respectively. Then the CEO and then the rest. It took her five trips, just under seven minutes, the CEO had been almost too heavy.
Then she flew away, her heart soaring and it had been soaring for two whole days!
And for the heck of it, she checked out Superhype.net. It was a blogging website about super hero antics, about amateurs and candid photos of the heroes in the city. She peeked on it recently to see if something suspicious was going out there.
There was one thing that Abby forgot in her daring rescue plan. One of the office workers had a camera phone and caught her in the act. Her face was a bit blurry, but just the same, she was caught. Abby slumped in her seat and covered her hands in her face.
