Luna came again through the vents, it really was the best for getting around without being seen in this place. She ran up to the cell saying, "I got it, I got it!" then stopped and looked at him.
She started to giggle, "You have a bowl on your head, Uncle."
"You're not supposed to wear the bowl," Luna said trying very hard not to laugh. It wasn't his fault he was insane, "You're supposed to use it to hold your food. I've been doing well, I figured it out!"
"Everyone here is in a cage too," she said simply. "The council isn't always right but everyone listens to them anyway and doesn't ask any questions. It's... it's really stupid." Luna said.
There wasn't a better word for it. She didn't think they really need the council.
"Probably," he nods. "That's a very clever girl. You know, though, people follow the orders of the council, and they don't notice the bits that drip all over their face."
A bit of juice from the bowl runs down his forehead to collect on the tip of his nose, before dripping off.
"Why does everyone follow the council, do you think? Why don't they ever ask questions?"
"Like the food on your head," Luna said laughed and then paused. "I don't know, maybe they're afraid, I guess. No one here knows how to think for themselves, do they? Everyone lets the council think for them, and that's why they don't ask questions. They're scared, aren't they?"
"Well... do you want me to just tell you? Like the council does?" He grins, and licks another drip from the tip of his nose before is falls off. "Or would you rather figure it out for yourself?"
"I can figure it out on my own," Luna said proudly. "They're afraid," she said after she thought about it for a moment, "Because the council can do things to you if you don't listen to them. They don't want to be locked up. But they're so worried about that they don't know they already are," Luna said.
"Maybe because you know that too, and you weren't afraid of them. Does that mean they're going to lock me up too?" Luna asked. She didn't want to be locked up.
"And there's also the fact that you wear bowls on your head and don't take bathes."
"Cousin Gorgon takes a lot of girls to his room and they do odd things under his blankets," she said. And plopped down, putting her head in her hands, "I don't know what they do and I tried to see through the vents but I couldn't tell and I almost got caught and it's just weird."
"But Gorgon supports the council, doesn't he?" He shakes his head sadly. "Well, it's a good thing your parents are immune and behave normally... right?"
"...Father just sulks when he's here," Luna said, "And Mother just fights with him. I'm not even sure why Father's here right now," Luna said, looking at the floor, trying to puzzle it out.
"Though for my birthday he said I get to make a list of places I'd like to visit and he and I will go there..."
She looked up again, "Is it wrong though, that I liked him better when I only got to see him a few times a year? It feels like that should be bad."
Excellent. Yes, yes. The girl should be returning soon, and will want another part of the Secret.
He looks at his empty bowl, considering it, then places it gently on his head.

He still hasn't removed the bowl. He's getting food all over his hair.

"And you're going to need to wash your hair."
