The effect seems strangely incosistent, but he's just beaten the hell out of Kaine, that deformed 'first clone' of Peter's that made his life hell for five long years. So he knows something's up.
Swinging over the city, he can't help but hope that whatever's happenening here, bringing a bunch of evil jerks back to life... maybe the silver lining could bring Gwen back.
In the meantime, he'll scour the town, waiting for his spider-sense to go off and find the next spot of trouble...
