This flight was all about protection. She had adjusted her grip on Pietro in an effort to make him more comfortable instead of just dangling from her "talons". She had to pay attention to what she was doing, not wanting to drop him, but she managed it only having lost a few moments of flight time. Pietro was protected. Then she streaked northwest, towards less populated areas. That will protect the masses...the innocents.
It's a predictable line to take. As a former Hound, she knows what's happening, but she doesn't seem to have much of a choice at the moment. Too many innocents involved. What cannot be changed must be endured.
