There's a dark pall over the Academy these days. Jean Grey is gone. Warren Worthington and Charles Xavier himself lie in comatose states.

The students remain somewhat oblivious, but they know better than to be too flippant around the senior staff.

Some of them have seen far too much in the way of tragedy.

The X-Men they have had to bury are thankfully few in number, when considering how often they have risked life and limb. But still, he cannot reflect on the passing of any of his friends without coming to the grave that wounds him most deeply.

He has no close family left. Distant cousins somewhere in Russia... and Mikhail, may he find his peace someday. This gravestone beionging to his sister often becomes a sounding board for his innermost thoughts.

His lips move slightly, whispering things of concern to her.

Still regretting that he was not strong enough to protect her.
