Aspirin and water are immediately in Pietro's hands to offer her.

"You are always welcome, Lorna."

It is somewhat strange for him, as well, given their history with X-Factor.

But if he has another member of his family that he can trust... well, it's a testament to how isolated he tends to feel.

"I can leave you to rest now, if you like, but I would like to hear your story of what happened out there."

She accepts the items with a smile, quickly washing down the little white pills with some water. The glass is placed on an end table as she settles on the couch. "No, no need for you to leave. My head hurts all the time anyway and I'd like the company." Otherwise, she listens to things she shouldn't be hearing ( ... )

Brand. He's read the name in some Avenger files. The New Mexico debacle.

The green hair struck him.

He does not comfort well. He pauses for just a moment to digest that, then pushes past the tragedy.

"Overloaded yourself," he repeats, focusing on the dangers for her. "This would be why Magneto noticed a power fluctuation..."

But right now, that lack-of-comforting is actually better it its way. She is able to focus on other things and not her emotions.

"Exactly. I have somehow gone beyond my limits. He had warned me that I probably hadn't reached my full potential yet, on my last visit. So I would know what to expect someday. I just didn't expect it to be this soon but I had to try and save those people." She shrugs and looks to his face. "So now I have lots more power available than I really know what to do with. I really could've dropped a 747 on that security guard's head with little to no effort." Oh wait, he'd missed that part. Oops.
