Another night in the suit. Another patrol. And another day at Stark Enterprises finished before that.

He should know better, damnit. He's never been one of those people that needs rest and sleep like other people. He resents the need actually. He resents things the swallow his time. It leaves him feeling off and like he missed something...corporate buyouts...a nice pair of legs unable to put themselves in a taxi...some attack or another...

He takes off his helmet and stares at it for a good long while - at least by his standards - before going to his computer.

When he disappeared along with the other heroes, Stark, Inc had done exactly what needed to be done. As soon as they declared the CEO had gone missing along with the Avengers they'd lock down everything from the press, from Fury, and from any other corporate master they could find. James and Pepper had the only keys - not that they knew that. He just had the doors coded to their DNA at one point and told them that if they needed something after he was gone then they'd need to work together to get it. It would take both of them requesting access to the suits in order for the failsafes to come off those doors. He can just see in his mind's eye both of their frowns and them calling him a bastard.

Well, if he was a bastard, he wouldn't have a company, now would he?

"Computer...any access to section 12?"

"Negative."

He works on his shin guards. "Any access to the Maria databank?"

"Negative."

"How many shares do we have?" He knows the answer already.

"48 out of 100. Controlling interest by bi-laws 51."

He's spent too long on this already.

"another iron war", iron man
