I was wondering, you've only laid out specifics for fic and visual art, are those the only kinds of fanworks you're accepting? Or will other kinds be allowed, like podfics? Because there are a couple podficcers interested in participating if we're allowed.

Of course, podficcers are welcome! I'll be honest and say that the lack of info there is due to my lack of knowledge on what the lower limits on podfic (and vids) would reasonably be.

Any suggestions on that would be very welcome too.

Yay! And I'd be happy to talk limits!

Honestly, podfic doesn't need to be treated that much differently than fic. You've got 1000 words as the minimum for fics, it's reasonable to ask podficcers to find a story that long. It can be harder to put a time limit in for podficcers since reading speeds can vary (even for a single podficcer!) and the type of header info people include/if they include music/etc. can pad the lengths of a single podfic. Most podficcers estimate based on word count anyway.

I don't think it's really necessary to include any additional information/rules for podficcers. Pretty much all of us get permission to record before we post. Some of us make cover art and/or podbooks for our podfics, but I wouldn't suggest making it a rule, since just as many podficcers don't.

As for vids, I haven't made a vid in years but I think I've seen other comms have a 60-90 second minimum for vids? But it's probably better to ask someone more in the know than me. :)

Thank you so much for this! I've gone with your suggestions and the limits for podfic are now in the post.

Again, thank you so much for helping us out!

Apologies for the basic question, but do you match work type to work type, or do you match on characters & likes without regard to work type?

(I ask because I only record podfic, and I don't care what kind of work I get, but I know a lot of people aren't into podfic and I didn't see a space on the signup form to specify. I realize that it might complicate the match, of course.)

We will be matching on characters, ships and likes.

I'll add a note to mention if you do not want a specific kind of work in the additional notes section but given the complexity of matching we're already facing, I don't think adding another factor in will be possible or frankly, fair to the mods.

Yeah, I like the idea of treats for the requests - the requests give me ideas. :)

Oops, replied to wrong post due to misunderstanding where the reply buttons were referring to!

Will there be any way for people to write treats for the fest? Either a public post with the requests anonymized, or even just a treat subcollection where people can post things without a recipient using the characters from the list?

This is a fantastic idea and we're setting up the subcollection right now (or as soon as I finish typing this).

There will be a post about it as soon as it's set up and we'll open that post up to prompts if anyone has any they want to share!

Ok so marking my calendar for signups.
One quick question, you listed where fanfics needed to be hosted, but where does fanart need to be hosted? Just asking since my LJ is on lockdown, though I can of course make selected posts public :)

In the past we've had everything hosted on AO3 including art. We would like to continue to keep everything in one place.

Well, that is how behind the times I am. I didn't know we could host art on Ao3!
Cool :)

Is it okay to only sign up to write one character? Because there's one I've been wanting to write anyway, so I figure I could as well sign up with him.

Also, I assume I can ask for crossovers inside the Movieverse (like Iron Man/Captain America) as long as it's not the only thing I'm asking for?

Right, we don't consider the different franchises within the MCU as crossovers.

It would be easier on the mods if you give us a little more to work with but we will do our best to accommodate that. As long as this isn't a super rare/background character that no one's going to be asking for, it should be fine.
