Well what an interesting trip it has been and I have only gone 200 miles. I managed to finally find a place on about my fourth try that could fix my window in my truck. I now have a brand new floppy piece of plexiglass in the cap door. It didn't even really cost that much. I just don't like how floppy that back window is now. oh well.
I finally got the landlords to come over to the house and do the walk through with me on friday night. Which in and of itself was a funny thing. I set up the appointment with her for 4 o' clock. She calls me at 2 while I am picking up my truck window and I let it go to voice mail since I wasn't sure who it was. Now you have to understand that for some reason she is scared to death of my dogs. So I listen to the voice mail to find out that at 2:30 she wants to go into the house to write down a list of things that need fixing with her workmen. Like where the ceiling fell in from the roof leaking. So I call her right back to find out she has already tried to go in and Bubba greeted her at which point she slammed the door and ran for the hills hehe. That is what she gets for trying to rush me. When I said I would be out by 4pm I meant I would be out by 4 pm not 2:30 pm.
Ok so I wasn't done exactly at 4 pm. I was in the middle of doing a final mopping when they arrived and of course they both tromped on the half of the floor that I had mopped. grrr. So I walked through the house with them and of course everything was clean and ready to start showing the house. Really I think they just wanted to fuss at me about the lease that some how got extended to june. I just played stupid and told them I didn't know anything about it and that they would have to talk to Beej.
So that was all done and I had to load the truck, put the cap door back on and check fluids. For some reason I have been loosing clutch fluid and I knew I had to put tranny fluid in. I think the rear main seal is gone. Which pisses me right off since I just had the engine and the tranny replaced in january. So I have to call the mechanic by mom on monday and see if he will cover that much under some sort of labor warranty.
So now I get on the road I am soooo excited to finally be leaving NY. I call and talk to Beej and Michelle and get on the road after getting gas at an amazing 1.97$. So twenty miles down the road I am dropping already and my hip is killing me. I forgot to mention that Thursday while I was working on putting the truck together for the trip the load mouth bitch neighbor comes running out of her apartment door yelling that she has caught her oven on fire. Now her door is right about my driveway and right by the garage so the last thing I need is for her house to go up and catch the garage. So I scramble to get off the back of the truck to get the fire extinguisher and in the process fall ass over tea cups onto the driveway. I landed on my ass then my back and then smacked my head. Which BTW this all happened right after I broke the cap door glass.
Ok so I am driving twenty minutes from home hip is killing me generally sore and falling asleep. I just gave in and called Beej and Michelle back to have them find me a hotel room. So they found me a hotel room ten minutes away and I had to stop for the night. Seems I broke stride before I ever got out of the gate. But they found a nice clean super 8 that was cheap and would let me bring Bubba.
Speaking of Bubba what a trip he has been. So far up my ass I may have to change his name to hemorrhoid. He is sooo not sure what is going on and so not liking all this. I went out to the truck to get the bags and he was at the door barking and whining when I got back in. So a quiet early night in the hotel room with cable thank the gods I have missed TV and Bubba curled up on the bed next to me. Now he hasn't been off his food or his feeding schedule since all this started. I have been very careful to keep that part of his life the same since he tends to be a finicky eater. But I was getting concerned when he still hadn't pooped by midnight Friday night. So I decided to wait and see what happened Saturday before I got to neurotic about it.
Saturday morning we got up before my alarm even went off at 8:30. Feed Bubba breakfast and got ready to leave. I loaded the bags into the truck and checked out of the hotel and took him for one more walk. We had been out about 5 times the night before in about 7 hours. He finally pooped. I was on the phone with mother at the time who of course latched on to the blow by blow report of the pooping as a way to tease me about being an over protective parent. Oh well at least we had poop. the other bit of news I got from my mother is that her dog that has been at my house two weekends this month has whip worms. I don't think the worm meds that Bubba and May are on covers that. And now May has been with Calvin (Michelle's dog) who isn't on any worm meds. So I have to call the vet monday and find out what they hell I gotta do about this.
So we left this time with the intent to get out of NY once and for all. Stopped one last time at the reservation to get smokes for mom, vic, and myself. And a couple hours later landed at Cindy's house in Edinboro. Which BTW I might mention she lives a couple hundred feet from a big lake so the wind whips around like crazy and its NW PA so its cold as fuck. And they had a wicked snow storm last week so there is still a foot of snow on the ground. I have to go shovel here in a minute so that there is enough room for us to both park. Of course it is the packed in shit from the snow plowels so its gonna be a bitch to do. I sooooooooooo can't wait to be away from this cold and white shit.
That brings us to today. Last night I slept in the worlds most comfortable bed with a nice cozy electric blanket. Today I am going to shovel snow, clean up the house a little and repack my things now that my laundry is all clean again. I don't know how long I will be here for it really depends on what the mechanic has to say Monday. As for poopwatch 2008 I think we are done with that. He pooped both last night and this morning.
And thus concludes another day in the life of the traveling Marv.
