I'm a little busy juggling a few projects in different stages of their lives. Although the editing and proofing part is SO MUCH FUN (sarcasm here), I feel compelled to start something new just to clear my head.
So, what do I do? Start the third in a series of YA fantasies and I haven't even sold the first book yet. I'm seriously considering putting the first two books into a single volume and call them 'Part 1' and 'Part 2'. Two climaxes, two denouements for the price of one. Such a deal.
The books are sequential so I'm a bit concerned about pitching the second. I'm trying to make sure it stands on its own. Same characters, world, etc. Starts six months after the end of the first book. Still, it's a story unto itself, so its query and synopsis will be flying through cyberspace to agents' mailboxes everywhere.
Yeah, I'll keep working on Book 3. Or maybe I should switch gears and write an erotic vampire romance. Oh, that's been done? Gee, I would have thought that was an original idea. Well, I can always toss in a fairy or an elf to make it different. That's been done, too? Okay, so back to my own totally original, funny, cute, pun-filled YA books. All right, I'll admit to having a half vampire, but no elves or fairies.
