I fail at this lj thing

So, I dunno how to phrase this properly because either it doesn't happen to English-speaking folks much or I've never heard/read about it. So let's see if I can type a sentence that doesn't sound too awkward. If it does, you'll just have to remember I'm still like four years away from actually becoming a translator so any mistakes on my part are ( Read more... )

hi it's 8:39 at night your time and i am sending you ALL THE RAINBOWS AND SPARKLES AND UNICORNS in the world. ALL THE UNICORNS.

i have like 18 papercuts on my thumb and when i asked my sister to do the dishes for me just this one night she dawdled and dawdled until finally the nanny did it. and the nanny isn't supposed to do it, it's not her job it's my job, but i literally cannot go near water or i start cussing like a fishwife, and i was like EMMIE YOU LAZY BITCH LOOK AT YOUR LIFE LOOK AT YOUR CHOICES.

in conclusion, feel better soon!!!

what do my life and my choices and my overall laziness have to do with you making the nanny do the dishes, i wonder?

also how did you get all those papercuts woman.

also i feel bad for not getting your icon.

(saw never let me go, something in keira knightley reminded me of aforementioned little sister, must be the haircut and the paleness AND THE FACT THAT I CANNOT DIGEST EITHER OF THEM AT THE MOMENT. idek, random comment is random)

it's my job, i lift shelves and open boxes all day i'm bound to slice my finger open at some point especially now that i've not got the hang of it yet, today i went around with a bandaid around both the middle finger and the index finger of my right hand, that was awkward haha.

but did i tell you i got a part time waitressing gig too?? it's not about the money (my parents aren't going to kick me out of the house) but i can start saving for going back to school and also hopefully toss a couple coins into the piggybank of my confidence which has been sadly depleted of late,.

ouch. papercuts are a nasty bitch, but i suppose it'll get easier with practise.

And wow, you're saving up so you can go back to school? that's wonderful! i wish i had your dedication. and congrats on landing the waitressing gig, that's great!

Also i feel bad for not remembering what you were studying (especially because you do remember what i study) but i seriously don't understand America's college/university system. I know you go to college for four years, and that it's really really expensive and competitive, but I don't know what happens afterwards.

Basically what i get is this: you studied something to do with European History, and i have a very good idea of what it is, but idk whether you majored in it (idk what a major is) and i also recall something about it being about the history of ideas and thinking? i fail.

i do it's ladytahiri but i think i forgot to install it on this computer??? idkkkk it's mostly relatives in china i use it for omgggg yr pale and i'm brown hahaha people see me and wonder if i'm vietnamese or thai or something they think east asian girls should be like porcelain dolls idek anyway i majored in history and my concentration was intellectual history, aka the history of ideas, so we read a shit ton of philosophy. and as for the competitiveness of the american education system well it depends where you go to school. i really miss my school and with most liberal arts colleges like ours there's less emphasis on what your major is and more emphasis on getting a broad foundation in lots of different subjects (you'd be hard pressed to find a soul who hasn't taken econ 101, for instance, or gotten at least as far as the second semester of calculus) so that upon graduation yr prepared to go forth into the world as a happy desk drone

D: can't you get it or something? *nags*

ugh people think south american girls should be brown so i know what you mean.

YOU MAJORED IN HISTORY! that's what it was. intellectual history sounds fascinating. also idk whether i've ever told you i'm a history geek but i am, i'm just not a very educated, well-read one.

I love the idea of a liberal arts college. that must be fabulous. what i love about your education system is that you get to pick some of the subjects you're gonna do, right? hence the econ/calculus craze, i'm guessing?
