The Fandom Report -- Black Lagoon 9 and The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi 9 -- SPOILERS!

Wow. Just... wow. I need to watch all the eps of Suzumiya Haruhi. I don't know if I want to bother doing it in order or anything, but I need to watch all of them. But this one... ep 9 was pretty funny. Weird, but funny. Then again, when hasn't it been weird?

What took the cake for me, though, was when Haruhi forced Mikuru-chan to pretend she was Sakura from Cardcaptor Sakura. Yeah, right Haruhi. How many schoolgirls in anime do you think throw batons that land on their heads that way? I know of only one, and that one was a magical girl.

On to something completely different. I'm kind of burnt out from violence in television right now from watching Black Lagoon. "Maid to Kill." Yeah, definitely. This is a show to watched in rationed amounts, and it will make you say, "What kind of ridiculous nonsense is that?" I had a moment like that, although I used rather saltier language.

Roberta. Killer Robot from the Future. Yeah. All we really need is Schwarzenegger, and it really would be a complete Hollywood movie. In fact, this ep made it feel like it really was.

This ep really reminded me more of Kill Bill and Quentin Tarantino than anything else, although I haven't seen Kill Bill, but the sheer fantasticness of the fight scenes, the ridiculous way these people fight, it's almost a B-Grade Movie Level of Unbelievable Craziness. Totally John Woo and Quentin Tarantino style. Also, the costumes. Roberta in her maid outfit reminds me heavily of Go-Go. She also reminded me of Antonio Banderas and his cohorts from Desperado. Yeah.

The show tires me out sometimes... although I sympathize, I'm beginning to get a little tired of Rock's sentimentality, but at the same time Revi's cynicism is also annoying. I guess I wouldn't want to live around these people on a regular basis. I mean, I never really thought I would -- but this drives the point home that being an outlaw is Not My Thing. That doesn't mean I can't visit that world through escapist fiction, though! XD

I think, though, that Revi isn't a completely heartless individual. She has about as much heart, trust, and compassion as someone who grew up in the gutter can have and still be alive. She's still pretty heartless -- you don't get to be someone like her by being nice.

And Balalaika, once again, proves herself to be cool on general principle. If the manga is any guide, we are about to witness a confrontation of the world's three most dangerous women.

Poor Bao. His bar always gets trashed. At least this time the Hotel Moscow will foot the bill.
