Just some life stuff.

Yesterday was my birthday. I'm 20 now.

No, it doesn't feel weird not being a teenager anymore. My roommate decorated the dorm room with balloons. She said that there are 20 and if they don't have Happy Birthday printed on them, she and Patrick drew all over them. I'll have her take pictures because I don't have a camera. Apparently, I'm required to keep them up until at least Monday or Tuesday. I'll also post the pictures of the chocolate covered strawberries my mom sent me. OHMYGODTHEY'REWONDERFUL. I had a happy joy spaz when I opened the box. (It says on the outside that I'm supposed to hide behind a large piece of furniture and enjoy them on my own. Except that I shared them with some of the other girls in the hall and Patrick and Stork. Because I'm nice like that.)

At the end of basketball games here at State, each member of the team throws these little yellow plastic basketballs into the crowd and I want one pretty bad. Well, my old classmate Jennie is on the team and she spotted me in the crowd (I sat someplace I don't usually sit, so that's probably why she hadn't seen me before but I go to pretty much all the games) so she throws a ball my way and THE STUPID GUY IN FRONT OF ME snatches it right out of the air! I was pretty miffed 'cause it was totally my ball. I ran into her in the crowd afterward and she asked if I'd gotten the ball, I told her no and we talked and laughed about how I should've jumped him for it because it's totally my ball and he doesn't even know her! But she promised she'd throw me one next game I was at - which'll be Monday against the Lesser University to the South.

I got a really bad case of the stomach flu on Sunday. Everything was going fine, woke up around noon, sat down at my computer to do some work, and then it was like my stomach exploded. I couldn't move, it hurt so bad. I pretty much just sprawled or curled on the couch for several hours until Helen got back from her show and drove me to the ER (it sounds really bad that way, but it was the only thing that was open. I still felt better knowing that if my appendix had ruptured, then I would've been somewhere where they could treat as well as diagnose me). They drew some blood, ran some tests, told me it was just the stomach flu and gave me a shot for the pain, then sent me off with a warning not to eat anything but bland food - not even dairy! I'm slowly recovering, but I couldn't get through my classes on Monday like at all. I'm doing better now, but I'm not perfect yet. I'm working on it.
