Okay, since I've been asked a few times. My Beowulf squee is the squee of a lit dork who has just found out one of her favorite lit dorkeries (mmm Epic) is coming to a theatre near me in November

A full on epic Illiad would need to be a trilogy. The first movie would be, essentially, the prequel. Paris' judgement, the kidnap of Helen, etc. Because you can't expect a modern audience to know what came before. Then split the actual Illiad into two. I'd have to read it again to work out a good break point. Then, for my own personal pet peeve, leave the actual sack of Troy and Trojan horse to a fourth movie (since that never appears in the Illiad, and is in fact only in the Aeneid

I pay almost no attention to hollywood. Bourne Ultimatum was the last movie I know I saw in the theatre since... Dawn of the Dead I think. So almost a year. I don't watch TV, I don't read blogs of people I don't personally know, and just like a week ago heard he had Stardust coming out.
And Neverwhere? Adjusted? Heresy. (I say, having the BBC production on VHS like a good fanatical lunatic)
