Decisions, decisions...

I still need to decide what I want to do with my life, exactly . So this summer I'm looking into internships at Law firms in my area on Long Island. Hopefully I'll get an internship or job this summer with an Adoption Attorney by the name of Carriweather that practices in Mineola. I'm also going to try and volunteer/work at Family Court again to see if I really do want to go into Adoption or Family Law. I'm also going to be looking into some journalism related internships or jobs, hopefully in publishing. So I need to decide this summer what exactly my plan is...

Anyways, next semester is also when I have to decide what Double Major I want. I'm a declared English major with a Sociology Minor. I'm probably also going to be a History minor because it requires 1-3 classes more. But that still leaves soooooo much space in my schedule. And yes I could just take bullshit classes to get the 124 credits and just graduate, but if I can use those 9 class spaces for another major, easily, with little to no bother, why not? It looks better anyway. So after this semester's over, I'm applying for a Psychology double major by January 5th the deadline; it's apparently is a very competitive program to get into. And I have some factors working against me in that respect, but we'll see, I mean I'll fight like hell. But see, if I don't get accepted for next semester, I have to give up on that idea because I don't have time to be doing mucho summer and winter sessions. If all goes to plan, I'll just have to take one winter or summer session, with 2 classes that I'll do for my study abroad which I need anyway to graduate (along with an internship). So if the Psych thing doesn't work out, my next choice will be an Interdepartmental major, with English and Individual and Family Studies. It's only 51, not 60 like a double major would be so yeah it's not a big deal. It's just the planning and getting the approval of the chairpersons that'll be a pain. But hey, it'll look great that I constructed my own major ;) . So if THAT doesn't work out, I go to History as a double major, which I'm not excited about....I just don't want to kill my love of history, and some of those courses I REALLY don't want to take. Anyways it doesn't matter what route I take, I'm still graduating spring of 2010 as planned. I technically could graduate a semester early if I wanted to, because of all the credits I came in with (God bless AP and Honors classes, and the experience, credit, and preparation they gave me for college...I knew exactly what was coming, I was just in the wrong major). But I'm all like "nah, let's graduate with everyone else, why grow up faster than you have to lol". Anyways, by Senior Year I'll be in the Honors Program, which I would have gotten into as a Freshman if I came in as an English major like I should have, but w/e people make mistakes. I just hope I don't have to take many honors courses. I heard you don't have to. If I do, I'm gonna have to take 1-2 Honors Classes starting next fall till I graduate which is going to SUCK. Also I'm going to be doing research next year, in either English, English and Psych, or English and Individual and Family Studies and writing 1-2 theses so I can graduate with either 1 or 2 degrees of Distinction. I already picked out my teacher :-). SO I'd like to Graduate at least Cum Laude, hopefully Dean's list, hopefully Magna Cum Laude, and hopefully but never gonna happen but whatever Summa Cum Laude. Oh and I've kinda sorta started looking into Graduate and Law Schools. And I've got to start preppung for the LSATs and the GREs. I know it's a reach, but I think I'd like to go to UPenn. Ivy League, we'll see. What sucks is that everyone else I know wants to go there too...Addi, Lisa, Roberta, Greg, Tyler, Dan...it's like UD transplanted in Philly. =/. Whatever. I wouldn't mine being there with DAN lol.
Oh and I'm going to be checking out Sororities next semester, and the following two semesters. I'll probably pledge next spring. I'm looking into the Latina one, ASA, KAO, Delta Xi, or maybe an Honors Fraternity...we'll see. I've also started looking into jobs and internships here and at home so when I get the list together, I'll post it. I am going to apply to be on the Appellate Board of Judicial Affairs, to get some law background next year. Also considering briefly taking classes in Swing, Ballroom, other dancing, fencing. I'm DEFINITELY going to play Rugby again, but maybe soccer, we'll see. I want to work for WVUD, The Review, Deconstruction Magazine, Debate Team, maybe AI, UDCLU...AND I'm making it a point to be in a play before I leave college...Phew!

Oh, and for the first time in a very long time...I don't like anyone! No crushes! :-D

Anyways, this is my tentative schedule for Next Semester:
English 331: The Age of Satire
English 206: British Literature 1600-present
Sociology 312: Theories of Society
Sociology 350: Social Inequality in Film
History 314: Twentieth Century America

If I get into Psych, I'm dropping SOC350 and English 331, and adding Psychology 207:Resarch Methods and English 202: Biblical and Classical Literature.

Yeah, welcome :-p
