melancholy ravings of the trivial sort...

Curse you, weather!!!!!

I happen to adore snow, the way it falls, the way it sounds, the way it looks all exactly the same until you come right up to a snow flake and have the 'oh' moment.

But it's March, and March is rain season, and rain is my favorite type of percipitation (it pretty much kicks snow's ass). So everyone, wish rain upon me, please.

In other not as whiney, and slightly less trivial news, I just got my paper about the success with which Eisenhower dealt with the public's many fears after WWII back and I did much better that I thought I had. The comments included that it was a little limited (which was true since I called Ike's methods 'Machiavellian" at several points, since I like none of the modern presidents) but my teacher is now trying to get me to major in history, which I'm going to take as a good sign.

I have nothing else to say, I just wanted to talk about the rain, so I'm done now, but I did find this quote the other day, which I thought some of you would appreciate:

“A poet is someone who stands outside in the rain hoping to be struck by lightning.”
~James Dickey

I've done this before, but in welcoming new friends:

Pick a pairing from my fandoms, and come up with a location and/or situation, and I will write you between 50 and 250 words about the kiss that happened in that context.

This might take me a few days, so bear with me.

drabble, ever increasing ignorance, begging for inspiration, politics
